Job summary

Bake Fresh is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep all equipment and the facility in working order at our Colorado location. The role covers preventative maintenance, spare parts management, and collaboration with service reps to resolve issues, while adhering to GMP, FDA and OSHA safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of troubleshooting in a food manufacturing setting, strong electrical and PLC skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical troubleshooting and control system knowledge required.
• Experience with conveyor maintenance and electrical/welding/plumbing a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams and service bulletins.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment to original performance standards in a timely manner.
• Keep equipment and facility in good working order.
• Work with service representatives as needed.
• Follow GMP, OSHA safety guidelines and FDA regulations for food service.
• Identify and request spare parts as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Report to Plant Manager on maintenance requests and status.
• Instruct team leaders on proper equipment handling to minimize damage.

Overall Responsibility

The Maintenance Technician is responsible to keep all the equipment and the facility in working order. The Maintenance Technician must keep current with all preventative maintenance, maintain a spare parts level, perform repairs as needed and work with equipment service representatives as required.

Core Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Repairing all equipment to original performance standards and specifications in a timely
  manner
• Keeping all equipment in good working order
• Working with equipment suppliers’ service representatives as required
• Follow all GMPs, OSHA safety guidelines, and FDA regulations regarding food service
• Communicate needs for spare parts as outlined in the spare parts inventory
• Identify equipment with poor performance history to the Plant Manager
• Maintain equipment so it can be operated in a safe manner
• Communicate safety and sanitation issues to Safety and Sanitation Leaders as well as
  area leaders, Production Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager
• Review maintenance requests with the Plant Manager
• Ensure maintenance work area is clean, sanitary, and well organized
• Instruct appropriate team leaders in the proper handling of equipment to minimize
  damage
• Report to work on time, in a clean/complete uniform and maintains good personal
  hygiene
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Strictly adhere to and confer all company policies and procedures as outlined in the
  policy manual
• Practice Food Safety Culture every day at all times
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements

• Industrial Electrical, Control and PLC trouble shooting skills required
• General facility maintenance skills
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to design, fabricate, and upgrade equipment
• Reads and interprets electrical schematics, diagrams, technical service bulletins and
  manuals
• Knowledge of building codes and FDA / OSHA regulations regarding food service
• Industrial Electrical troubleshooting skills including 480V 3ph and control circuits
• PLC trouble shooting and repair

Education/ Experience

• Experience with conveyor maintenance, electrical, welding parts, and some plumbing
• Minimum of 3-year troubleshooting experience in a food manufacturing environment with
  proven skills in mechanical and electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Work Environment

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Inside an air-conditioned building with normal temperatures
between 70 and 80 degrees. Minor smoke/smell from ovens and dryers. Contact with food
allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, peanuts, and tree-nuts. Occasionally required to enter walk in-cooler or freezer for a short period of time with normal temperature between 0 to 40 degrees.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. On foot on a continuous basis. Grasping, pushing, pulling as needed.

Pay

Posted pay ranges reflect the expected starting compensation for each position. Actual offers may vary based on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skill set.
