Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of production, packaging, culinary, and facility equipment. This role supports food safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of quality and workplace safety.
Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical production equipment.
- Maintain and repair advanced systems including:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Microprocessor-based devices
- Motors and speed regulators (including servos)
- Feedback devices and cam switches
- Electronic display panels
- Photoelectric devices and barcode readers
- Inductive proximity sensors
- Pneumatic actuators
- Temperature and phase-angle controllers
- Relays and switching devices
- Support equipment start-up, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- Packaging equipment
- PLC-controlled conveyor systems
- Culinary equipment
- Other production and facility machinery
- Troubleshoot and maintain Proseal Packaging Technology Systems.
- Determine repair or replacement needs and perform corrective actions while adhering to established PLC and data architecture protocols.
Testing & System Support
- Design and implement testing procedures for electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control systems.
- Document and report testing results.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Work with electrical systems including:
- 480V
- 240V
- 220V
- 12V circuits and various amperages
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards are consistently met.
- Assist in training team members on safety and sanitation procedures.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment failures, and operational concerns promptly.
Inventory & Administrative Responsibilities
- Conduct recurring inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain documentation required by company, government, and accrediting agencies.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with internal departments.
- Participate in management and operational meetings.
Additional Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Move materials as required to support maintenance activities.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual operating conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must complete all company and government-required training programs.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated systems preferred.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate company software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Forklift certification or experience is a plus.
- Professional demeanor with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements

- Moderate to loud noise levels are common.
- Requires continuous movement throughout production and warehouse facilities.
