Job summary

Conifer Realty is hiring a Maintenance Technician for affordable housing in Clinton Township, NJ. This full-time position offers a 40-hour workweek with an on-call rotation to keep communities running smoothly.

You will perform routine maintenance across painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical and carpentry, help with grounds, and respond quickly to work orders. A minimum of 2+ years of residential maintenance experience is expected; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance across painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Care for the grounds and maintain curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond to work orders promptly and rotate for emergency on-call coverage.
• Prioritize quality and compliance, following safety and inspection standards.

What You’ll Bring As a Maintenance Technician

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we’ll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
