Job summary

Clarendale Clayton is recruiting a hospitality focused experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position is responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry functions throughout the community.

The role involves performing general maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, small repairs, painting, and assisting with heating and air conditioning systems when qualified. It requires teamwork with staff and a resident-focused service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs.
• Receive service requests and response in a timely manner.
• Perform painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Perform minor building and equipment repairs.
• Complete all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Assist, during winter, with snow removal efforts as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of fountains, pumping and filtration system, where appropriate.
• Perform maintenance on irrigation system (valves, timers and nozzles).
• Perform routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned.
• WHEN QUALIFIED, assist the Director of Plant Operations and/or perform work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
• Maintain exterior and interior of all buildings.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday with rotating weekends

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for assistance in maintaining aspects of the physical plant. Conducting, under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs; maintains safe working environment and assists other department employees as needed.

• Maintain exterior and interior of all buildings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Tools, equipment, machines used on the job:
Personal computer
General equipment: printer, scanner, fax machine, copier, telephone, calculator, cell phone, assessment tools (i.e. medical equipment)
Rotohammer, table and band saw, welder (3 kinds), hoist, pullers, assorted hand tools, laminate trimmers/routers, pneumatic tools, drills, saws (chop, table, circular, worm drive, band and jig), HVAC test equipment, drill press, and grinder.
Physical activities of the position:
Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. frequently
Pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs. frequently
Climbs, reaches, bends and twists frequently
Stands and walks frequently
Physical requirements of the job:
Medium work – exerts up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or 30 lbs. amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
