Job summary

Center for Disability Services, Inc. in Albany, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep across multiple trades.

Duties include plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical work, and grounds keeping to support residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid NYS driver's license, and at least 1 year of related experience; a relevant trade program may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• NYS driver's license in good standing.
• At least 1 year of job related experience in maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, or snow removal.
• In lieu of 1 year of experience, successful completion of a building related trade/technical program accepted.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs major maintenance projects, service and repairs in areas of preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, minor HVAC problems, electrical, grounds, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, furniture moving and other duties as assigned.
• Provide labor, skills and expertise, with a primary focus on quality workmanship, the safety, functionality and comfort of residents, participants, staff and visitors

We are searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our agency.

The Maintenance Technician assists in service and repairs in preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and/or snow removal. The Maintenance Technician is knowledgeable of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. They work under general supervision but a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Compensation Range

$20.90 - $24.20
