Job summary

Nailor Industries, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Mechanic to maintain and repair industrial equipment across our HVAC product lines. You will follow diagrams, manuals, and engineering specs to troubleshoot and service motors, gearboxes, drives, and control systems.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, downtime reduction, and safe operation of mechanical and electrical systems. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a certificate or diploma in a related field.
• Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus.
• Experience with industrial maintenance required; corrective/breakdown experience preferred.
• Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures.
• Self-motivated, responsible and safety oriented individual.
• Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
• Demonstrates a positive “can-do” attitude.
• Takes responsibility for self-performance (ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
• Must have a flexible schedule.
• Must be proficient reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical and electrical prints.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using precision measuring tools.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices with hoists, cranes and hand/power tools.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools and alignment equipment.
• Monitors downtime and informs production workers about preventive maintenance techniques.
• Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies effectively.
• Documents actions and communicates irregularities to maintain continuity among teams.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.

Industrial Mechanic

Job Duties

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines. Capable of following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Welding skills a plus.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
