Job summary

Independence Realty Trust Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to perform maintenance requests, troubleshoot repairs, and support community upkeep at The Commons at Canal Winchester.

This role offers hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering a great resident experience. The position requires 2+ years in maintenance or related trades, valid driver’s license, and the ability to handle on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance, construction, hospitality, or skilled trades experience.
• EPA I & II and CPO certifications preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to attend company-paid out-of-state training within first 2 weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests including: Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Appliance repairs.
• Perform property inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Assist with apartment turns and unit preparation.
• Maintain organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and company standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents.
