Job summary

Hutchinson is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and improvements across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a strong hands-on background, the ability to troubleshoot from schematics, and experience using CMMS to log work and track progress.

The Maintenance Technician performs machine repairs, projects, refurbishments, rebuilds, and preventive/predictive maintenance activities. Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance work as assigned and scheduled by the CMMS and responds to machine repair calls and projects.

To provide production, quality and service in a timely, safe and conscientious manner. To troubleshoot and offer input towards continuous improvement. To work in a respectful and courteous manner and to be accountable and responsible for all work performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Commpletion of assigned equipment PM activities as scheduled by CMMS.

Repair and troubleshoot injection press mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Repair and troubleshoot cementing/coating mechanical, electrical, and spraying systems, including repair and rebuilding of spray guns, agitators, and drum pumps.

Repair and troubleshoot assembly equipment and hydraulic presses.

Perform machining operations using lathe, mill, drill press, and bandsaws.

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using machine schematics and assembly drawings.

Plan and complete projects, refurbishments, and rebuilds.

Complete and accurately enter work activity into CMMS.

Daily housekeeping and 5S of work areas and maintenance shop.

Required to work mandatory overtime when scheduled.

Knowledge and practice of all applicable Hutchinson's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff and personnel from other company departments. Attention to detail, accuracy, completion of scheduled tasks. The employee must have strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aptitudes, and be able to work independently with little or no direct supervision. Employee must understand the role and function of the maintenance organization in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or minimum four (4) years of equivalent experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math and problem-solving skills required for measurements, fabrication, and completion of paperwork and reporting.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Employee must be able to navigate and input data into CMMS.

REASONING ABILITY:

The employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action. The employee must be able to troubleshoot systems and breakdowns by simplifying problems, process of elimination, and recognized problem solving techniques.

Fork truck operator's license. Scissor lift operator's license. First Responder and blood born pathogen certification.
