Hutchinson in Wytheville, VA seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair complex machinery used in rubber, plastics, extrusion manufacturing. You will perform preventive maintenance, read wiring diagrams and blueprints, and maintain accurate records.
Some welding may be required after hours; an electric license is desirable though not required. Responsibilities include installing and adjusting parts, repairing or replacing defective components, and
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year technical school studying applied trades,
plus 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in rubber, plastics, injection or
extrusion manufacturing. Proven experience with complex electrical/controls troubleshooting
and equipment installation/commissioning.

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Basic computer literacy (email, navigation, data entry). Ability to receive, read, and close out work orders. Can log downtime, parts used, and completion notes accurately
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, electric diagram or schedule form.
