Job summary

Axis Pipe and Tube LLC is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Bryan, TX to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment across the plant. The role works closely with production to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial maintenance, with competency across multiple disciplines and ability to interpret schematics and operate PLC-controlled systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, military training, or equivalent maintenance training preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of industrial maintenance or related technical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting with working knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical equipment and components including motors, motor controls, sensors, switches, relays, and related systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial control systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and other industrial maintenance equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, communication, and computer skills, with the ability to follow job and safety requirements in English.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment problems with production and maintenance personnel to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installations, replacements, and modifications as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems including motors, controls, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components such as bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and manuals; use testing equipment and tools to perform tasks safely.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and maintain tools, parts, and supplies; follow safety requirements.
  • Support changeovers, improvements, training, and other assignments as directed by management.

Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is a multi-craft maintenance position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems throughout the plant. This position works closely with production and other maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime, maintain safe and reliable operations, and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is expected to demonstrate competency across multiple maintenance disciplines and assist with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as operational needs require.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems throughout the plant.
  • Work with production and maintenance personnel to analyze equipment problems, determine root causes, reduce downtime, and improve equipment reliability.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment adjustments, installations, replacements, modifications, and other repairs as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, including motors, controls, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components, including bearings, gearboxes, drive systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and actuators.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Utilize appropriate testing equipment, hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and other maintenance equipment to safely perform assigned work.
  • Inspect equipment, identify conditions requiring repair or replacement, and communicate unresolved problems or recommended improvements to supervision.
  • Complete required maintenance documentation, reports, work orders, and inspections while maintaining necessary tools, parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety requirements, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, stored-energy, Lockout/Tagout, housekeeping, and PPE requirements.
  • Support equipment changeovers, installations, improvement projects, technical training, and other assignments as directed by management.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment.
  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, electrical hazards, vibration, and varying temperatures.
  • May occasionally work at heights, in confined spaces, or around chemicals and other industrial hazards.
  • Work environment is frequently loud and requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Position may require extended periods of standing or walking and responding to equipment issues throughout the facility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be physically capable of safely performing maintenance activities in and around industrial machinery and equipment.
