Job summary

Green Alpha Property Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Birmingham, AL apartment complex. This full-time role emphasizes reliability, a willingness to learn, and a hands-on approach to repairs.

You will respond to work orders, assist with preventive maintenance, ensure systems are in good order, prepare units for move-in, and use AppFolio for updates. HVAC/plumbing/electrical skills and a valid US driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC/EPA certification preferred.
• 1+ years of maintenance experience.
• Solid mechanical, plumbing and electrical aptitude.
• Proficient computer skills for work orders and reporting.
• Legal to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Respond timely to requests/work orders and ensure efficient problem resolution.
• Support preventative maintenance strategies amongst complexes.
• Help ensure facilities and related systems are in good working order (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, exterior, etc.).
• Help ensure that units are 100% ready for move in (checklists, physically visiting units, etc.).
• Update and maintain work order management through AppFolio (our in house property management software).
• Maintain clean properties by ensuring that complexes are clear of trash and other debris.

Green Alpha Property Management is the property management business of a real estate management and commercial investment company headquartered in Wake Forest, NC and with a strong presence throughout the Southeast United States. We specialize in acquiring, managing, and enhancing commercial real estate properties with a foundation centered on improving the lives of our stakeholders. Due to our large scope of properties, there are many different avenues for career progression.

In this full-time role (40 hours a week) you will support our apartment complex in Birmingham, AL. Willingness to learn is a critical trait this individual must have. This pays $18-$20 per hour.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Technician you will bring a positive, upbeat, and driven attitude to help build lasting relationships with tenants and team members. This role will:

• Respond timely to requests/work orders and ensure efficient problem resolution, and delegate as appropriate.
• Support Preventative maintenance strategies amongst complexes.
• Helps ensure that facilities and related systems are in good working order (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, exterior, etc.)

• Updates and maintains work order management through AppFolio (our in house property management software)

Qualifications:

• HVAC/EPA certification preferred
• Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical experience preferred
• 1+ years of maintenance experience
• Computer experience required
• Strong desire to uphold personal honesty, integrity, and work ethic
• Maintains a passionate and enthusiastic attitude
• Drivers License and ability to drive to various properties
• Show Legal documentation showing ability to work in the United States
