Job summary

Pretium Packaging in Manchester, PA is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems. You will help ensure safe, efficient operations and work on a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment adjustments.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC issues.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency maintenance as needed.
Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
Assist with equipment installations, modifications, testing, and startup.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve reliability.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
Support plant shutdowns, changeovers, and special projects.
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Follow all safety, food safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment adjustments
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC issues
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needsli>
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, food production, or similar environments
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of:- Mechanical systems
Electrical systems
Hydraulics
Pneumatics
HVAC systems
Ability to read and interpret:- Blueprints
Wiring diagrams
Schematics
Technical manuals
Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in:- Maintenance
Mechatronics
Industrial Technology
Electrical Technology
Related fields
Experience with:- PLCs
Automation systems
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Robotics
Industrial controls
Skilled trade certifications (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Welding, etc.)
Food manufacturing experience
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Physical Requirements

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb throughout the shift
Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
Work at heights and in confined spaces when required
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
