Job summary

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The role covers non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general upkeep across preschools.

A company vehicle is supplied; pay range is $20-$22 per hour based on experience and credentials. Responsibilities include prioritizing work orders, following safety standards, and performing preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 2–3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful.
• Customer service skills.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Must pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs across carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, finish work, and HVAC.
• Prioritize work orders, respond to urgent requests, and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
• Ensure adherence to building policies, codes, safety standards.
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs (hanging pictures, desk repairs).
• Occasional overnight travel (one week every other month).

Maintenance Technician

The Sunshine House is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair on our preschools. Company vehicle will be supplied. Pay range: $20-$22 hour, based on experience and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work.
• With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures.
• Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards.
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.).
• Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.
• At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs.
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
