Job summary

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team in Greenville, SC. The role performs non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair across our preschool locations. Pay range is $18-$20 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in maintenance-related disciplines (carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, and complete preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, codes, regulations and standards.
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs (hanging pictures, desk repairs, etc.).
• Occasional overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

Maintenance Technician

The Sunshine House is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair on our preschools.
Pay range: $18-$20 hour, based on experience and credentials. Company vehicle will be supplied.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work.
• With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures.
• Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards.
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.).
• Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.
• At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs.
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful

• Must pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

• Climbing up and down stairs, walking on uneven and narrow surfaces
