Job summary

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. You will perform non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance at our preschools.

Pay range is $18-$20 per hour, based on experience and credentials; a company vehicle is supplied. Responsibilities include repairs across trades, prioritizing work orders, and following safety standards. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience in a commercial/industrial facility with emphasis in facility maintenance; experience with electrical, building equipment and repairs
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful
• Customer service skills
• Flexible and adaptable
• Criminal background check and driving record clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in maintenance disciplines: carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc.
• Prioritize work orders, respond to calls, complete preventative maintenance tasks
• Ensure adherence to building policies, codes, safety standards
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs (hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs)
• Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work
• With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures
• Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.)
• Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary
• At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook

Physical Requirements

• Climbing up and down stairs, walking on uneven and narrow surfaces
