Job summary

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy in Atlanta, GA is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. You will perform varied maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and general repairs for our preschool facilities.

A company vehicle is provided and travel may be required occasionally. Required: 2–3 years of mechanical experience; Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent; proficient with MS Office; strong communication, multitasking, and customer

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs in carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc.
• Prioritize work orders with supervisor and complete preventative maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, codes and regulations.
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs (e.g., hanging items, desk repairs).
• Occasional overnight travel as required (one week every other month).

Job Overview

The Sunshine House is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair on our preschools. Company vehicle will be supplied.

Pay range

$20-$22 hour, based on experience and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work
• With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures
• Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards
• Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.)
• Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary
• At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful
• Customer service skills
• Flexible and adaptable
• Must pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

• Climbing up and down stairs, walking on uneven and narrow surfaces
• Climbing up and down ladders
• Kneeling, bending, stretching, and stooping
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
