Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain all plant equipment and facilities. You will support rolling stock equipment, follow OSHA safety rules, and keep the work environment safe and clean.

This full-time role requires experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical basics, with ability to read manuals and operate a range of tools. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on plant needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience required.
• Capable of operating hand, power and specialty tools.
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Team player and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to perform hot work (welding, cutting, brazing, grinding).
• Must read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain all industrial processing equipment, production machinery and facilities.
• Provide support for rolling stock equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment complying with OSHA standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to PM system and manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot and maintain motors, conveyors, electrical systems (if qualified), pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment.
• Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
• Repair and maintain rolling stock and facilities.
• Safely operate rolling stock, power tools and hand tools.
• Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize daily tasks and minimize downtime.
• Actively participate in plant safety program and Safety Committee.
• Maintain good attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.

The Opportunity

Responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining all industrial processing equipment, production machinery and facilities. Provide support for rolling stock equipment. Maintains a safe and clean work environment for all employees and customers complying with organizational and OSHA safety standards, procedures and regulations.

• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
