Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of facilities and buildings including garbage and waste disposal; perform event/room setups and breakdowns.
- Perform maintenance work of all skill levels from basic repairs to more complex tasks, including:
- Lighting checks, cleaning light lenses, bulb and ballast replacements
- Maintaining and repairing doors and locks
- Caulking, prep work, and painting
- Handle minor carpentry repairs
- Perform plumbing maintenance such as repairing or replacing faucets and fixtures
- Maintain limited access gates, storage closets, doors, and locks
- Clean areas around the pool, dumpster, and common areas
- Empty trash cans and dog stations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a related maintenance field, with electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance skills preferred
- Experience in general maintenance, and entry-level computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Self-motivated, observant, with high attention to detail; able to detect maintenance needs and rectify concerns
- Effective communication with managers, residents, and peers; ability to follow instructions and schedules; dependable, solution-oriented, and professional in appearance
- A pleasant personality and people skills
- Must pass a background check, a physical, and a drug screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employment and access to a personal vehicle
- Candidate may be required to support the Lifestyle Director after normal business hours; occasional on-call services may be required
Physical requirements
- Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 75 pounds
- Extended Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events
- Manual Dexterity: Proficiency with technology, including computers and mobile devices
- Driving: Ability to operate a vehicle to perform job functions. A Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed at hire and periodically thereafter
