Job summary

Toot'n Totum Food Stores, LLC seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to service and repair beverage and food equipment across Texas stores. The role includes handling plumbing and electrical tasks, maintaining records, and ensuring equipment uptime.

A High School diploma is required with HVAC/refrigeration experience preferred. Expect on-call rotations, weekend hours, and driving between sites with a valid license; safety and policy adherence are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls for assigned stores and maintenance needs.

• Perform light plumbing and electrical work as needed.
• Record work orders, track parts, and manage maintenance logs.
• Maintain company vehicle and assist with store openings/closures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and irregular hours.

Summary:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responds to service calls dispatched in assigned territory.
• Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
• Maintains and repairs beverage equipment such as Fountain units, FBD/FCB units, Coffee/Custom Café units, Cappuccino units.
• Maintains and repairs food equipment such as roller grills, bun warmers, fryolators, etc.
• Performs light plumbing to include clearing clogged drains, toilets, etc.
• Performs light electrical construction.
• Changes gas hoses and nozzles as needed.
• Records and manages maintenance and repair work performed and work orders on service software.
• Tracks inventory and parts used at each site.
• Maintains the designated company vehicle to ensure it is clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manages non-billable time such as meetings, truck maintenance and callbacks.
• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of developments in the field of facility maintenance.
• Assists all members of maintenance when needed.
• Assists with store openings and closings.
• Maintains the construction of new buildings and installs new equipment in stores.
• Supports and facilitates organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance
• Experience in refrigeration repairs and preventative maintenance
• Experience in plumbing repairs a plus
• Experience in cosmetic repairs a plus

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, and drive.

Lifting Requirements:

Lift up to 50lbs daily and 50-100lbs on occasion.

Hearing Requirements:

Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, and machinery.

Cognitive Requirements:

Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic or Complex speech skills; must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, clerical tasks, memorization, analytical skills, function under stress & make independent decisions.

Vision Requirements:

General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), Distance Vision (>20 feet), color vision and peripheral vision.

Noise Levels:

Normal (<85dB) noise levels

Repetitive Motion(s):

Regularly & repetitively use left/right/both feet and left/right/both hands.

Environmental Factors:

General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, slippery floors, hot grease, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, pressurized equipment, Oxygen/Acetylene, Cylinders, CO2 Cylinders, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
