Job summary

Cope Plastics Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Alton, IL for first shift. Responsibilities include installation and repair of predominantly CNC machinery, and performing preventative/reactive maintenance across production equipment.

You will read electrical/mechanical schematics and manuals to diagnose issues and support installations. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in machinery maintenance, with knowledge of CNC machines, electrical systems, and plumbing; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED with specialized electrical and welding training.
  • 2 years of vocational/technical school preferred.
  • 2-3 years of machinery maintenance, electricity and plumbing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs machinery using preventative maintenance work orders, daily check lists and calls for immediate repairs.
  • Troubleshoots, inspects and diagnoses problems and corrects as necessary.
  • Installs new power requirements for machinery and replaces broken power receptacles.
  • Records maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Willing to travel for brief periods of time.

Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician in Alton, IL. This position is a 1st shift position.Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installation and repair of machines (predominantly CNC) in the fabrication facilities. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and will be expected to maintain a timely schedule as well as address emergency maintenance needs.Essential Functions:Maintains and repairs machinery by using Preventative Maintenance work orders, daily check lists and calls for immediate repairs. This includes all Cope facilitiesTroubleshoots, inspects and diagnoses problems and corrects as necessaryInstalls new power requirements for machinery and replaces broken power receptaclesBuilds new storage racks for corporate location and all branchesPossess the working knowledge of mechanical/electrical machine practices with the ability to read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guidesKnowledge of machine design and operation and a familiarity with operating and setting up CNC equipment and assist with installation of new machineryRecords maintenance and repair work performedIdeal candidate profile:Self-motivated and a hard workerKnowledgeable in various maintenance topics including but not limited to electricity, plumbing, mechanics, hydraulics, HVAC, pumps, etc.Willing to travel for brief periods of timeFamiliarity with CNC machines3 Phase experienceWhy you should apply:Competitive benefit package (Group Health & Dental and Vision Insurance)401(k) Plan with Company MatchShort-term Disability InsuranceLife InsuranceSubstantial paid holiday scheduleImmediate time-off earningsInterested in learning more about our benefits?
