Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. in Alsip, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform, monitor and improve preventative maintenance on extrusion blow molding lines and support equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

You will expand your expertise through formal training and on-the-job projects, participate in changeovers, and ensure safety protocols and quality standards are met. This role offers night shift with a $1/hour differential, premium pay for skilled work, and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing equipment maintenance.
• Solid hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical knowledge.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on aerial platforms up to 20 feet.

Responsibilities

• Maintain extrusion blow molding and support machinery to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Execute and continuously improve preventative maintenance procedures.
• Participate in changeovers with efficient and correct execution.
• Repair and rebuild spare parts as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards and procedures.
• Expand expertise through formal training and on-the-job experiences.

Job Responsibilities

• You Will Perform maintenance for extrusion blow molding and support machinery to assure uninterrupted & optimal operations
• Execute & continuously improve preventative maintenance procedures
• Participate in changeovers, ensuring efficient & correct execution
• Repair & rebuilds spare parts
• Assure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, operational practices & procedures
• Expand your expertise through formal training & on-the-job experiences, including new equipment installation & equipment modification projects

Work Hours & Availability

Ability to work 3rd shift, along with overtime and vacation coverage as needed. Training is on 1st shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Graham Wheel, case packers, box machines is preferred.
• Solid hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical knowledge, along with the ability to troubleshoot & problem solve.
• Ability to interpret technical & operational documents, including manuals, blueprints, schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on aerial platforms up to 20 feet with or without reasonable accommodation.

You’ll Earn $33-$35 per hour , based on experience Night shift includes a shift differential of $1 per hour.
