Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on fixtures and equipment within a predefined zone.
• Repair, lubricate, and adjust hospital equipment to ensure safety and comfort.
• Prioritize tasks and operate within policies and schedules.
• Evaluate and monitor building and utility system performance in assigned zones.
• Adhere to department policies and procedures; participate in training and cost-saving efforts.
• Serve as a resource to other department staff to accomplish maintenance operations.

The role places major emphasis on preventative and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform all preventative maintenance procedures on fixtures and equipment within a predetermined zone in a timely manner as prescribed in Facility Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Perform repairs, lubrication, and adjustment on all hospital equipment to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
• Prioritize tasks and methods with a great deal of independence to operate within established PHS and Facility Services policies, procedures, and schedules.
• Evaluate and monitor the performance of building and utility systems in assigned zones.
• Know, understand, and adhere to PHS and Department policies and procedures.
• Constantly improve technical knowledge and skills through participation in educational programs and in‑service meetings.
• Understand the department operating budget and suggest methods to keep operations within budget; develop plans and recommendations to reduce maintenance costs.
• Serve as a resource to departments within the zone in the area of facility maintenance operations.
• Support organizational visions, values, and strategies.
• Serve as a resource to other department staff to accomplish department operations.

Qualifications
