Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to collaborate with the maintenance team on repairs, installations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance in a metal manufacturing setting.

The role requires GMP compliance, accurate labor/parts logging in CMMS, and clear communication with a team while independently completing assigned tasks. Overtime and on-call duties are required as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree in maintenance-related field preferred.
  • 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in metal manufacturing environment; troubleshooting preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing.
  • PLC experience preferred.
  • Experience with welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with little to no supervision.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot/repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers.
  • Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment.
  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep.
  • Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise.
  • Familiarize yourself with CMMS system and log labor/parts.

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work with the maintenance manager and supervisor to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You'll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, complete preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Attention to detail is necessary for completing inventory and shift notes. We strongly believe in "Safety First, Quality Always" for our employees, products, and customers. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently to complete a designated list of tasks and that is also able to effectively communicate with a team. Responsibilities
  • Work with little to no supervision

  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
  • Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise
  • Able to familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations
  • Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required
  • Must participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call program
  • Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent - Technical degree in maintenance-related field preferred
  • 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in metal manufacturing environment with the ability to troubleshoot preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Experience with and ability to use all types of welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools preferred
  • Experience in high speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission preferred
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, use arms and hands to feel or reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on occasion, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may work with materials that could irritate eyes, skin and breathing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The employee will be working near and/or with high-speed automated equipment. This may cause risk of injury if safety procedures are not followed. The work environment is often noisy and hearing protection is required.
