Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Massachusetts is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform machine repairs, installations, and routine PMs, while ensuring GMP and environmental safety adherence. The role requires troubleshooting, documentation in CMMS, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, welding, and power transmission is preferred.

Safety and accuracy are essential for daily maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level descriptions of required maintenance background and skills.
• 2 years minimum experience in Maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work with PLCs is preferred.
• High-speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with little to no supervision.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine parts.
• Troubleshoot/repair machinery such as conveyors, molding machines and basic automation.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical and general upkeep.
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise.
• Able to log labor/parts in CMMS and write work orders.
• Overtime, including weekends and off-shifts, as required.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Audit LOTO procedures regularly.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will execute machine repairs, equipment installations, and routine troubleshooting. In this role, you will balance daily work orders with urgent, unexpected repairs, while maintaining a strong commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and environmental safety regulations. The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of independence, documents inventory, write workorders, and communicates seamlessly with the team. The qualified individual will perform routine PM’s on all the equipment in the facility, also keep the facility clean and safe. Will track all work and PM’s performed in the Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Identify and write a new workorder for any mechanical faults or oil leaks found while doing the PM’s. • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical and general upkeep.
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise.
• Able to familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations.
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required.
• Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
• Help perform PM’s with a goal of 100% completion.
• Audit LOTO procedures regularly as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent - Technical degree in Maintenance related field preferred.
• 2 years minimum experience in Maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• General PLC knowledge preferred.
• Experience with and ability to use all types of hand tools.
• Experience in high-speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, use arms and hands to feel or reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on occasion, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may work with materials that could irritate eyes, skin, and breathing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The employee will be working near and/or with high-speed automated equipment. This may cause risk of injury if safety procedures are not followed. The work environment is often noisy, and hearing protection is required.
