Job summary

Oakdale Seniors Alliance is hiring a Maintenance Tech Specialist with an Electrical focus at Asbury Heights in Pittsburgh, PA. The role emphasizes intricate electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations while supporting general campus maintenance across our senior living campus.

You will work in a day shift, with a shared on-call rotation, and must bring 3–5 years of experience in facility or electrical trades. A valid driver's license and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance or electrical trade.
  • Proficient in electrical systems, diagnostics, low/high voltage, and building controls.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Strong communication and teamwork when coordinating with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical maintenance and repair across campus, including circuit repairs and lighting checks.
  • Preventative maintenance on generators, panels, and equipment to meet life-safety codes.
  • General campus maintenance including plumbing, HVAC filter changes, and turnover prep as needed.
  • Assist the Maintenance Director with outside electrical contractors on major projects.
  • Maintain audit-ready maintenance logs and comply with OSHA and local codes.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Tech Specialist with a primary focus on Electrical Work to join our campus physical plant team.

While you will assist with general maintenance across our personal care, independent living, and skilled care buildings, you will serve as our resident expert for electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations. If you take pride in solving complex building issues, working with your hands, and making a real difference in the lives of seniors, this is the perfect opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance & Repair: Perform complex electrical troubleshooting, circuit repairs, fixture updates, ballasts, outlet/switch replacements, and emergency lighting checks across campus.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance checks on generators, panels, and equipment to ensure full compliance with life safety codes.

  • General Campus Maintenance: Partner with the broader maintenance team to assist with general building repairs, basic plumbing, HVAC filter changes, and unit turnover prep as needed.

  • Vendor & Project Support: Assist the Maintenance Director when working with outside electrical contractors on major capital improvement projects.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain immaculate, audit-ready maintenance logs and adhere strictly to OSHA and local building codes.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance, commercial building engineering, or residential/commercial electrical trade work.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong, demonstrated proficiency in electrical systems, circuit diagnostics, low/high voltage systems, and basic building controls. (Journeyman electrician license or technical trade certification is a huge plus!)

  • Skillset: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical single-line diagrams.

  • The Heart: Compassion for and comfort working around senior residents and their families.

  • Requirements: Valid driver's license and the physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and navigate a large multi-building campus.
