We are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our facility operations team in Verona.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in the daily upkeep, safety, and physical operation of our building and grounds. In this role, you will handle daily maintenance requests, troubleshoot building systems, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure full regulatory compliance and resident comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Repairs & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, tiling, and interior/exterior painting.

  • Work Orders: Promptly respond to and resolve daily work orders submitted by residents and department heads, maintaining a high level of courtesy and professionalism.

  • Building Systems: Assist with the monitoring, inspection, and light troubleshooting of facility systems, including HVAC, emergency generators, lighting, and security alarms.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute tasks on the community’s preventative maintenance calendar to maintain safety standards and extend the life of equipment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Help ensure all walkways, common areas, and exits remain clean, safe, and hazard-free; participate in fire drills, safety inspections, and inclement weather protocols (such as snow removal) as needed.

Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities upkeep, or a related trade. Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality property management is highly preferred.

  • Solid, well-rounded knowledge of basic plumbing, electricity, HVAC troubleshooting, and carpentry.

  • Strong physical stamina, with the ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong interpersonal skills—patience, empathy, and excellent customer service when interacting with our elderly residents are essential.

  • Valid driver's license required.

Schedule & Availability
  • Full-time schedule.

  • Must be willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule to handle occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance emergencies.
