Sets up, plans procedures, installs and repairs production equipment and special purpose machines, including equipment's electrical supply lines and circuits, electrical/electronic controls, piping and tubing, pneumatic controls and systems, and hydraulic systems. Inspects equipment for proper lubrication and performs general preventative maintenance duties. Utilizing the MP#2 system, establishes guidelines for equipment assessment and scheduled service. Diagnoses trouble, disassembles, determines extent of repairs, determines estimated labor time for outside repairs, or makes necessary repairs and adjustments. Operates machine tools to assure proper sequence and accurate operation. Makes control adjustments and makes a noted record of change in logbooks, where applicable. Performs welding and sheet metal operations as required. Evaluates safeguard placement and protection of equipment for production personnel. Inspects equipment and tests performance of equipment following repairs, checks for correct dimensional accuracy and visible material part defect acceptability. Performs most complex repairs independently with little or no supervision. Performs equipment and control problem diagnosis in a timely manner. Plans and coordinates major equipment repairs, requisitions needed replacement parts and utilizes alternate sources to meet production needs. May diagnose electronic control problems to circuit board. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Informed and utilizes Lock Out and Tag Out procedures.

Minimum of five years experience in journey-level equipment maintenance. Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Basic English language skills.
Algebra and computation skills.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions. Attention to detail and established procedures.
Journeyman in Equipment Maintenance.
Must be able to climb, bend, and stoop to inspect, repair and perform maintenance of equipment. Must be able to transport self throughout plant to equipment.
Generally work in unclimatized plant environment.
