Job summary

FXI Terrell, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery. The role requires hands-on fabrication skills, shielded metal-arc welding, and the ability to interpret drawings and electrical schematics.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum high school diploma and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong math and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and respond to call-outs as needed.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and work in a plant environment.
• Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform mechanical preventive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery.
• Perform metal fabrication (structural and sheet) and shielded metal-arc welding.
• Interpret detailed written instructions and procedures.
• Prepare inventory lists, maintenance notes and other written information.
• Oxy/acetylene cutting and cutting of various materials.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and simple electrical schematics.
• Wood fabrication and installation tasks as required.
• Replace lamps at ceiling height (up to 36 feet) and maintain clean work areas per 5S standards.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding non-conforming product and production stoppages for quality improvements.

Job Purpose:

Support FXI Terrell, TX in the following areas:.... Incoming, process, quarantine, customer service to assurance to reach the company objectives through their experience on the administration of the product, process and personal, interacting with internal and corporate management team and costumers relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform mechanical preventive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery.
• Metal fabrication (structural and sheet).
• Shielded metal-arc welding.
• Interprets detailed written instructions and procedures.
• Prepares inventory lists, maintenance notes and other written information.
• Oxy/acetylene cutting.
• Interprets mechanical drawings.
• Interprets simple electrical schematics.
• Wood fabrication.
• Supplies personal hand tools, vom, understands basic math (ratios, fractions and circles) and understands metric measurement.
• Minimum 3 years directly related experience.
• Must be able to read, understand and comply with plant and company policies and procedures, such as safety, s.o.p., s.e.p., etc. Which are all written in english.
• Complete position requirements training for job code 690220.
• Keep work area clean and organized throughout the shift in accordance with 5s standards.
• Installs and repairs irrigation sprinklers.
• Digs holes, shovels dirt.
• Mixes and pours concrete, grout.
• Installs and repairs gypsum board walls.
• Paints (brush, roller, spray can, spray gun)
• Replaces lamps at ceiling height (up to 36 feet)
• Communicate with supervisor when non-conforming product.
• Stops production to correct quality problems.
• Environmental aspect and impact awareness.
• report any inconsistency or nonconformance on the product and participate in the corrective/preventive actions process

• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Maintenance Technician: 3 years
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant conditions
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Lift 40 lbs from floor, bend, twist, climb, crawl.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Attention to detail and good math skills required.
