Job summary

Canam Steel Corp in Buckeye, AZ seeks a self-motivated maintenance technician for its production team. The role offers full-time employment with benefits, on-site work, and a 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM, OT as needed; initial training on 1st shift).

Starting compensation is $30.00/hour with a $2.00 shift differential; overtime, bonuses and retirement plan options may apply. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401K with employer match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of welding and fabricating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics and drives.
• Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting and repairing production machinery.
• Basic PLC knowledge.
• Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
• Lockout/tagout and PPE knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment – overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.
• Assist with servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program.
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance.
• Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment – forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance; may require overtime or weekends.
