Job summary

Amarr Company in Mocksville, NC is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across the plant. You will diagnose issues, replace components, and keep machines running to minimize downtime, with a Monday-Thursday 5pm-3am schedule.

You will support production with setup, changeovers, startups, and routine inspections, maintain records, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience as Maintenance Technician in manufacturing or production.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read maintenance manuals, drawings and instructions.
  • Willingness to work a 5pm–3am shift and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Install, adjust, and repair components for proper operation.

We are seeking an experiencedMaintenance Technicianto join our growing team.TheMaintenance Technicianis responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems throughout the facility. This role will diagnose equipment issues, replace or rebuild components, and ensure machines are running at optimal performance to minimize downtime.

Schedule:Monday - Thursday: 5pm - 3am

What You’ll Do

Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues within a manufacturing production environment.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production machinery.
  • Install, repair, and adjust equipment and components to maintain proper operation.
  • Support production line setup, changeovers, and startups as required.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment to ensure consistent performance.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failure and take corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
Production & Mechanical Support
  • Provide hands‑on support to mechanics in fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, pipefitting, and machining activities.
  • Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance projects as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout and other required safety procedures.
  • Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment risks, and improvement opportunities.
General Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, lifts, carts, and other material‑handling equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or trade training preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and production processes.
  • Strong mechanical skills with experience in pneumatic systems; hydraulic and electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other industrial equipment (or ability to become certified).
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, basic drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, safety‑focused, and detail‑oriented.
  • Willingness to respond to production needs in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required to support production and project needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance technology, Building Maintenance, or related technical field experience.
  • Technical certification in HVAC, OSHA, PLC

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing more than 45 lbs. using team lifting procedures.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift); this position also requires the ability to ride a 3‑wheel bicycle or cart.
  • Ability to safely move throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and/or ladders as required for job tasks.
  • Ability to use hands, wrists, and fingers for handling materials, writing, and computer work.
  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, tablets, scanners, or handheld devices.
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast‑paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environmental conditions.
