Job summary

George’s Foods, LLC is seeking an Occupational Maintenance Technician to repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment and to perform preventative maintenance across the facility. The role requires reading technical manuals and schematics, using a range of hand and power tools, and working with safety procedures such as lockout/tagout.

The technician will handle daily maintenance tasks, respond to emergencies, and complete paperwork for work orders.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing and/or electrical.
Basic welding experience.
Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Have or obtain tools needed to perform the above tasks.
Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred pneumatics and hydraulics experience.

Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in assigned area.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility.
Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal in an efficient manner.
Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and work areas.
Respond to plant emergencies including Haz-Mat incidents, equipment malfunction, fires, severe weather, etc. as directed by supervision.
Lock out / tag out certification.
Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager.
