Bear Real Estate Group is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician II to support McHenry Commons in McHenry, IL and Chelsea Commons in Sugar Grove, IL. You will work with a team on complex maintenance tasks, perform advanced diagnostics, and mentor Technician I staff.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5+ years of residential or facilities maintenance experience.
• HVAC work and basic electrical/plumbing skills preferred.
• HVAC and EPA 608 certifications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as painting, minor plumbing/electrical work, appliance repairs, and turnovers.
• Diagnose and repair moderate-to-complex issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Lead preventative maintenance programs across building systems.
• Oversee detailed unit turnovers and ensure high-quality, timely work.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to technicians.
• Assist with larger projects, system upgrades, renovations, or capital improvements.
• Assist in bidding for repairs and projects and advise Property Manager.
• Conduct inspections of units and building systems and maintain logs.
• Track supplies and equipment usage.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
• Travel between properties for advanced support.
