Job summary

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. in Ottawa, KS, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our distribution center equipment and facilities in safe, efficient working order.

You will lead installation of new equipment, perform diagnostics, and carry out preventive maintenance on conveyors, forklifts, and related systems. The role requires hands-on technical skills, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to follow SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree or certificate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years related experience in industrial maintenance.
• Industrial distribution/warehouse maintenance experience preferred.
• Must follow set safety procedures and guidelines.
• PowerIndustrial Truck and Yard Truck certifications required.
• Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• First Aid/CPR and AED certifications preferred or required.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash concepts.
• Proficient with hand tools, testing equipment, and basic electrical work.
• Able to follow established SOPs and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair MHE including conveyors and rollers.
• Repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery.
• Ensure forklifts, racking, and facility systems are fully functional.
• Use CMMS to manage parts inventory, work orders, and documentation.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and safety practices.
• Assist with site start-up and equipment moves as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
