Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the Ohio Toledo area. This full‑time role (32 hours per week) focuses on varied maintenance tasks to keep residents’ living spaces safe and well‑maintained.

You will perform repairs, assist with moving furnishings, and support the ongoing preventative maintenance program. Experience in health care facilities and a high school diploma are preferred, along with a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Maintenance experience, preferably in a health care setting, is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry is important.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general maintenance tasks including repairs and inspections.
• Assist with moving residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paint residents’ living quarters as required.
• Assist with preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failure.
• Maintain documentation for safety, drills, policies and equipment testing.
• Assist with transportation tasks as needed.
• Create a safe, comfortable environment for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paintsresidents' living quarters as needed.
• Assists with theon-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing,fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Assists with transportation tasks as needed
• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable
• Experience: Maintenance experience in a maintenance department and prior experience in a health care facility preferred. Some working knowledge of electrical and HVAC work is important.
