Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support industrial maintenance of material handling systems. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues, and assist with electrical/PLC tasks under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, training participation and flexibility to work different shifts as needed. High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in mechanical hobbies or FedEx Sortation equipment counts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with minimum skill requirements.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in agriculture, automotive or related technical areas.
• In lieu of demonstrated mechanical aptitude, two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge or enrollment in Industrial Maintenance/mechatronics program.
• Related military technical experience and electrical or mechanical trade experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic preventive and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems.
• Diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly apparent at a single component level.
• Adhere to safety standards and participate in required trainings.
• Require supervision for preventative/corrective maintenance tasks.
• May participate in smaller scope projects.
• May work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as the business need dictates.
