Job summary

Staples, Inc. in New York is hiring for an entry-level Maintenance Technician. The shift is 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday.

You’ll work with hand tools and receive training to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment in our warehouse environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass a drug screen, and willingness to be trained on hydraulics, electrical systems and MHE operation after certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
• As a Full-Time associate, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; overtime as needed.
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet or more as needed.
• An ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment with basic hand tools and learn hydraulics, electrical systems and industrial batteries.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot tasks using manuals and procedures.
• Operate power material handling equipment after training while following safety procedures.
