Job summary

Staples is hiring an entry-level Maintenance Technician for our New York area warehouse. You will work with hands-on tools, learn hydraulics and electrical basics, and participate in training to build a lifelong maintenance career.

Expect a night shift from 11:00pm to 7:30am, Sunday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. You should be comfortable in a warehouse setting, pass a drug screen, have a high school diploma or GED, and be 18 or older.

Qualifications

• A mechanical aptitude with interest in hydraulics, electrical systems and batteries.
• Willingness to learn to operate power tools and read vendor manuals.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and fitting into a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and preventative tasks on equipment and machinery.
• Use hand tools and basic test equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Learn to operate power material handling equipment as trained (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
• Adhere to safety standards and participate in ongoing training.
