Job summary

Nordstrom is hiring a Maintenance Tech 1 in Cedar Rapids, IA to execute a preventive maintenance program and support troubleshooting of material handling equipment. You’ll design maintenance solutions and help the Operations team achieve department goals.

Responsibilities include safety, repairing conveyors, basic relay logic and PLCs, operating forklifts and lifts, and completing work orders with labor hours and parts used; lift up to 49 lbs and endure shifts up to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of conveyors and building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment.
• Basic knowledge of controls systems and PLCs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety by following all procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling systems and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams and control components.
• Operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts.
• Maintain and use work order system.
• Create/close work orders with labor hours and parts data.
• Collaborate across Nordstrom departments.
• Lift up to 49 lbs and stand/walk up to 12 hours.
