Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. seeks a Facilities Technician 1 at the Cedar Rapids Fulfillment Center to execute a preventative maintenance program and support troubleshooting of material handling equipment.

You’ll assist with diagnosing issues, maintaining conveyors, and designing maintenance solutions to meet department goals. The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, power tools, and basic PLC concepts, with emphasis on safety and cross-department collaboration; lifting up to 49 lbs and extended

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance.
• Knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of power tools, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of controls systems & PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance program and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose material handling equipment issues.
• Design maintenance solutions for complex problems and projects.
• Create and close out work orders with labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used.
• Maintain safe work environment and interdepartmental relations.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and lifts as required.
