Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their Ice Cream Plant in Marshall, MN. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging equipment to ensure continuous production.

Second shift hours are 3:00pm–11:00pm with rotating weekends; starting pay is $24.00–$26.00 per hour plus a $1.50 night shift differential. Benefits include PTO, holidays, 401(k) matching, and comprehensive health plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree preferred.
• 0–2 years related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read safety documents and maintenance manuals.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
