Job summary

Watts Water Technologies in Spindale, NC seeks a Maintenance Tech I to perform maintenance and repair of building facilities, grounds, and production equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and can work with forklifts and testing equipment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic fields
  • Highly safety conscious and compliant with safety standards
  • Experience with building trades and best practices
  • Basic understanding of local and national building codes
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Understanding of materials (wood, metals, plastics)
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environments
  • Trade license is a plus (e.g., plumber, electrician)
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel; multilingual a plus

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical equipment including forklifts and production test equipment
  • Plan and perform work with strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical theories
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment per OSHA and Watts safety requirements
  • Advise operators and supervisors on safe operation of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Install and relocate warehouse racking; maintain maintenance records
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and train team members
  • Identify problems proactively and inform management as needed
  • Work overtime when required; contribution to continuous improvement

An ideal candidate for this position will have a broad range of experience in the building trades, particularly in a manufacturing and industrial warehouse environment.**Scope of Position**This highly motivated individual, as part of the Maintenance department, will be responsible for maintenance and repair activities for the building facilities, grounds, as well as production and handling equipment.**Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities*** Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical equipment, including but not limited to lift and transport trucks, water plumbing, and specialized production test equipment.* Plan and perform work requiring a strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles* Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment for machine activation and shutdown in accordance with OSHA and Watts safety requirements.* Advises operators and supervisors of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical and mechanical equipment and components.* Install and relocate warehouse racking.* Maintains company performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.* Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed or scheduled.* Proactively identify problems and take prompt action.
