Job summary

Watts Water Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repair of building facilities, grounds, and production equipment in a manufacturing setting. You will support production uptime and safety through proactive troubleshooting and servicing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with trades, strong safety awareness, and the ability to read blueprints and work instructions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic fields.
• Highly safety conscious with knowledge of building and industrial trades.
• Basic understanding of local and national building codes.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.
• Able to communicate proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical equipment including lift and transport trucks, water plumbing, and production test equipment.
• Plan and perform work with strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment in line with OSHA and Watts safety requirements.
• Advise operators on safe operation procedures for electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Install and relocate warehouse racking.
• Maintain maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and identify problems early.

This highly motivated individual, as part of the Maintenance department, will be responsible for maintenance and repair activities for the building facilities, grounds, as well as production and handling equipment.

An ideal candidate for this position will have a broad range of experience in the building trades, particularly in a manufacturing and industrial warehouse environment.

Scope of Position

This highly motivated individual, as part of the Maintenance department, will be responsible for maintenance and repair activities for the building facilities, grounds, as well as production and handling equipment.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical equipment, including but not limited to lift and transport trucks, water plumbing, and specialized production test equipment.
• Plan and perform work requiring a strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles
• Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment for machine activation and shutdown in accordance with OSHA and Watts safety requirements.
• Advises operators and supervisors of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical and mechanical equipment and components.
• Install and relocate warehouse racking.
• Maintains company performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed or scheduled.
• Proactively identify problems and take prompt action. Informs appropriate management and other maintenance mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
• Trains and assists other maintenance team members.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic fields.
• Highly safety conscious.
• Experience with building and construction trades and best practices/ techniques.
• Basic understanding of common local and national building codes.
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Working understanding of properties of various materials including wood, metals, and plastics.
• Working understanding of electrical principles.
• Able to understand and communicate proficiently in English.
• Experience in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.
• Mechanically inclined
• Experience with and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Personally motivated and able to work with minimal supervision or direction.
• Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial or industrial building maintenance.
• Experience with manufacturing maintenance.
• Licensed in a trade (ex: plumbing, electrician, etc.).
• OSHA training.
• Machining experience.
• Welding/ Plasma cutting experience.
• Commercial Driver's License, either current or past.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet use.
• Multi-lingual: Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
