Job summary

Atlantic Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our community in Aurora, IL. The role requires hands-on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills, with on-site responsibilities and a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

EPA certification is preferred, and the company offers support to obtain certifications after hire. A strong work ethic and a customer-focused mindset are essential, with safety and reliability as core priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of experience in facility maintenance or mechanical repair.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques; building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to understand instructions and communicate in basic English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional image and attitude in keeping with the company's objectives and residents’ welfare.
• Report to the supervisor each morning for work assignments and communicate delays if any.
• Provide 24-hour emergency service by participating in an on-call rotation.
• Inform the supervisor of needed parts and supplies.
• Leave notices in residents’ apartments stating reasons for entrance and explanations of work performed.
• Observe the condition of vacant apartments and report unusual circumstances to the supervisor.
• Perform “make‑ready” tasks in turnover units as directed.
• Keep the property clean and in order; pick up trash while performing duties.
• Know the location of water, gas, and power turnoffs, fire extinguishers, and other safety devices.
• Collaborate on preventative maintenance for furnaces, A/C coils, and other equipment.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supervise shop cleanliness.
