Job summary

Conifer Realty is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Fort Washington, MD to upkeep affordable housing communities. You will perform routine maintenance, handle painting, plumbing, electrical work, and basic repairs to ensure safe, comfortable homes for residents.

You’ll join a team that values reliability, customer service, and teamwork, with on-call rotation and potential overtime. A high school diploma or GED is required and bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we'll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Responsibilities

• Bring spaces to life – perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Care for the grounds – maintain curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond with urgency – complete work orders promptly and rotate for emergency on-call coverage (respond within 30 minutes).
• Prioritize quality & compliance – follow all safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Be part of a team that cares – work closely with peers and residents, showing empathy and pride in every repair.
