Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or 1–3 years related experience preferred, or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain factory equipment including machine tools, compressors, HVAC systems, plating plants, and assembly equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; dismantle and repair/replace defective parts.
  • Inspect parts and test equipment to ensure proper operation; adjust devices and instruments.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, mill, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines; perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in improvement activities and maintain clean work areas.

Job Brief

Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Maintenance Tech for our client. This job involves repair and maintains factory equipment, including machine tools, compressors, HVAC systems, plating plants, and assembly machines. Duties include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, dismantling and repairing parts, machining replacements, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting improvements.

What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Repairs and maintains all factory equipment such as machine tools, compressors, HVAC systems, plating plants, and assembly equipment.
  • Recognizes, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment operating problems.
  • Dismantles devices (electrical/mechanical) to locate and repair/replace defective parts.
  • Inspect parts (used and new) to determine dimensional characteristics.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices, equipment, and control instruments.
  • Starts devices/equipment to test their performance and perform machine adjustments.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, mill, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Performs basic preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Performs cleanup activities at designated times.
  • Participates in improvement activities
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to function in a team environment by working with and cooperating with others.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of PLC and CNC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits and test equipment (e.g. multimeters, ammeters, voltmeters, etc.).
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics with the ability to troubleshoot and program.
  • Knowledge of welding and simple fabrication. Welding should include stick, mig, and tig.
  • Knowledge of machine control circuits and understanding of schematics.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, pumps, feed lines, PVC, CPVC, copper and metal piping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
