Job summary

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Tech for our Twinsburg, OH facility. You will install, repair and maintain essential manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable production.

Expect hands-on diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and combustion systems, plus ladder logic troubleshooting on ABB robots and PLCs. Welding and shop equipment operation are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical education or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and combustion issues; implement fixes to prevent recurence.
• Troubleshoot ladder logic on SLC 500, PLC 5 and ControlLogix systems.
• Modify positions and diagnose ABB robot faults (M94, M98, M2000, M2600, M6700).
• Install, move and align equipment; operate machine shop equipment with precision.
• Perform gas and electric welding as required.

Job Description:

• Installs, repairs, and maintains manufacturing equipment and plant facilities necessary for satisfactory operation of equipment and processes.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and combustion malfunctions and operating difficulties. Determines repair procedures and implements those repairs that will be effective in preventing reoccurrence.
• Can navigate and interpret ladder logic in SLC 500, PLC 5, and Control Logix software for the purpose of troubleshooting equipment faults.
• Can modify positions and diagnose problems on ABB robots. Models M94, M98, M2000, M2600, and M6700.
• Installs, moves, and aligns new and existing equipment.
• Sets up and operates various types of machine shop equipment with a moderate degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Performs both gas and electric welding operations.
