Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a part-time Maintenance Tech to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for residents. The role covers general repairs and preventative maintenance, with a focus on electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks in a healthcare setting.

The position starts at $18.00 per hour, with hours up to 32 per week and potential adjustments as experience grows. Candidates should hold a high school diploma and a valid Ohio driver’s license with insurability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• HVAC and electrical experience are required.
• Experience in a health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, comfortable environment for residents, families, visitors, and partners.
• Performs general maintenance tasks including repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
• Assists with moving residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Repairs and paints residents’ living quarters as needed.
• Supports ongoing preventative maintenance and equipment operation to minimize failures.
• Maintains documentation of safety and maintenance records such as fire drills, safety plans, and generator testing.

Overview

This Maintenance Tech position offers up to 32 hours per week now (8a-4p) and will reduce over time.

The position starts at $18.00/hr and increases with experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners.
• Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed.
• Paintsresidents’ living quarters as needed.
• Assists with theon-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure.
• Assists with maintaining documentation of fire safety evacuation plan, fire drills, disaster plan, smoking policy, fire alarm testing,fire extinguisher maintenance and testing reports, generator testing logs, water temperatures, flame spread ratings of interior finishes, and other maintenance records.
• Assists with transportation tasks as needed.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education : High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Licensure/Certification : Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable
• Experience: HVAC and electrical required, maintenance experience in a maintenance department and prior experience in a health care facility preferred
