Qualifications

  • Fluent in reading and writing English; strong communication skills.

Job SummaryThe Maintenance Tech repairs and maintains machines, mechanical equipment, plumbing and electrical equipment. They will clean and lubricate machinery, perform basic diagnostic tests, check performance, and test machine parts. They use their understanding of the equipment, technical manuals, and careful observation to discover the cause of any breakdowns. Once the problem has been diagnosed, they disassemble the equipment to repair or replace the parts then test the machine to ensure it is working properly. The maintenance tech is also responsible for performing preventative maintenance.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesInvestigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operationPerform maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment are functioning according to specificationsEstablish and coordinate the service schedule and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed conditionConduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, conventional machines, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and conveyor systemsEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctionsLocates sources of problems by observing mechanical devises in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power toolsDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of repaired or equipment parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedgesControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitors complianceFabricates repair parts by using machine shop equipmentMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies, requests orders and verifies receiptConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvides maintenance information by answering questions and requestsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networksMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededIdentify unsafe operations and practices and report the same to Manager immediatelySupport engineering activitiesOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesPromote teamwork by participating and encouraging others to be involved in activities that will improve the companyParticipate in and lead “Kaizen” activitiesUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publicationsAccomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as neededAttends OSHA required trainingsRequired ExperienceHigh School or GED required plus 2 year technical degree/certification; plus1-5 years’ experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, high voltage electrical, and mechanical equipment in CNC machinery operations. Experience level will dictate tech level (1, 2, or 3) upon entry into the position. Applicants with 0 years’ of experience may be eligible for the starting pay upon selection into the position.Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and systems up to 480 voltsFamiliarity with complex machinery, electrical circuits, and plant operating equipment. Should maintain a sense of urgency, self-motivation and overall good work ethic while performing tasks in a safe mannerFluent in reading and writing in the English languageMust be able to read blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specificationsAbility to use Mitsubishi and Fanuc Software is preferredMust exhibit good organizational skills, good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications skills. Extensive knowledge of computer software (Windows 2007, XP and Microsoft Office), computer hardware.Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with all levels of associatesStrong communication skills (oral and written)Positive attitude toward customers and co-workers are expected
