Job summary

Axius Group LLC in Wichita, KS is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical components at our facility. The role includes high voltage electrical work, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and machining operations on CNC and manual machines.

You will diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, and work with the EH&S Manager to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with CNC and manual machines; aircraft parts manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Makino machines.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and Mazatrol controls preferred.
  • Ability to apply basic math for measurements and tolerances.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect machinery and equipment for proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions with supervisors or maintenance staff.
  • Dismantle, repair, and install machine components.
  • Perform high voltage electrical work on 480/208 3-phase systems and related electrical components.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance like fluid changes and lubrication.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to fabricate parts and fixtures.
  • Carry out welding or cutting to repair parts as needed.
  • Maintain safety compliance and communicate with EH&S.
  • Record environmental paperwork as required.

JOB SUMMARY: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems at assigned facilities. Manages used oil, universal waste, and hazardous waste satellite and storage containers.TRAINING: Hazardous waste training shall be provided to employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position. A review of hazardous waste training shall be provided every 12 months thereafter. Employee shall be supervised until training has been completed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect machinery and equipment for proper operationDetect equipment and machinery malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machineDismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired partsInstall and repair high voltage 480/208 3 phase electrical apparatus, 120/277/208/240/480 electrical systems such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic (low voltage) components of machinery and equipmentPerform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter and fluid changes, fluid refills, lubricating, greasing, hose and wiring inspections, chip removal from the machine and conveyors, residue and contaminant removal, and necessary repairsSet up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and toolsOperate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal partsPerform facilities maintenance and repairs such as carpentry, painting, lighting, electrical, and plumbingComply with all company safety rules and regulationsWork with EH&S Manager to file environmental paperwork to maintain compliance.Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contactsAccept and adapt easily to changeEnsure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission StatementOperate job-related equipment with or without an accommodationMeet physical demands of job with or without an accommodationManages used oil and universal wasteManages all hazardous waste satellite and storage containersPerforms hazardous waste inspections, as neededArranges for disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulationsPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned duty satisfactorily.
