Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Tech to support Supervisors and Lead Maintenance Engineers in facilities management. You will help ensure safe, efficient operation of hospital systems, monitor schedules, and supervise staff assignments as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, English fluency, and preferred 5–10 years of relevant experience with hands-on skills in mechanical work, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Supervisors and Lead Maintenance Engineers in Facilities Management as assigned.
  • Ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operation of hospital equipment and maintenance tasks.
  • Prioritize and complete work orders; supervise scheduling and staff as needed.
  • Prepare estimates for time and material costs of projects; manage stock of parts and materials.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Assists Supervisor and Lead Maintenance Engineers of Facilities Management as assigned. Accepts the responsibility for the continuous efficient and safe operations of equipment and maintenance personnel necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of hospital in good repair. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Monitors work schedule and ensures that all jobs are prioritized and completed. Supervises the personnel schedule their assignments, assist in evaluations, counseling or disciplinary action. Upkeeps a stock of parts and materials; estimate time and material costs of various projects. Able to do mechanical work, carpentry, drywalling, painting, and ceiling tile replacement, supervision, or as assigned. Performs routine maintenance service or repairs in two or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, electrical repairs or installations. Requisitions new supplies and equipment as needed.

What qualifications you will need:
